Light and Location
Double Red thrives in a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Choose a site that receives six or more hours of full sun.
Soil
Double Red prefers moist, acidic, well-draining soil. Adding a little compost or leaf mold to the soil when planting will help make your rose happy.
Watering
You’ll want to water consistently during the first season, keeping the soil evenly moist. It’s best to water earlier in the day, and it’s always a good idea to keep from watering the foliage as evening gets close.
Pruning
Heavy pruning is generally not needed, but your Double Red may be trimmed in late winter or early spring to remove deadwood or to control or direct growth. Remember, deadheading is not needed!
