Soft yellow flowers, each one with a broad deep maroon eye at the center. The line between the two colors is clean, no bleeding or flecking out into the petals, which is the whole point of this one. They sit on a low mound of fine threadleaf foliage and keep coming from early summer straight through late summer.

It stays around 16 to 18 inches tall and spreads to a little over two feet, so it fills in along a walk or across the front of a bed without ever getting tall enough to block anything. Full sun and good drainage are what it asks for. Once it's established it handles a dry stretch without complaint, deer tend to leave it alone, and the flowers hold up well in a vase.

It's part of the Designer Threadsยฎ collection, a group selected for mildew resistance, which is the thing that usually takes coreopsis foliage down by August.
