Pardon My Cerise Bee Balm — Dwarf Monarda (Monarda didyma 'Pardon My Cerise') · 1.5 Gal
Pardon My Cerise earns its name — big, brilliant cherry-cerise blooms that bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds work over for weeks through mid-to-late summer.
It stays low and tidy — a compact 14–18" mound — but the flowers don't shrink with it: full 2½–3" blooms on a clean, well-behaved plant. It's a Proven Winners selection bred for excellent mildew resistance, so the foliage stays fresh and aromatic all season (brush it and you'll see why the deer and rabbits keep walking).
Easy to keep happy in our Northern Virginia gardens: give it full sun to part shade and rich, consistently moist soil — a steady drink and a little airflow is all it asks. Hardy in zones 4–8, so in our 7b it's a true perennial that comes back year after year.
