Ah, fall… Leaves are changing. The sky is a little bluer. The temps are dropping. Sweaters are coming out. And firepits are a’blaze. It’s one of our favorite seasons!
And how about fall flavors?
Pumpkin, certainly. Add in a little apple, a little cinnamon, a little, uhm, brandy…. And before you know it, cocktails are being shaken, stirred and warming our cockles.
With that in mind, we’ve put our concoction-master to the task of creating a couple of Reston Farm Garden Market cocktails using a few of our favorite, and most popular, items: Bonita’s Apple Butter and Big White’s Apple Cider.

The Harvest Mule
- 6 ounces of Big White’s Apple Cider
- 2 ounces of Spiced Rum or Vodka
- Ginger Beer or Pumpkin Ginger Beer to top off your mug
For the full “mule” experience, pour into your chilled copper mug filled with ice. Garnish with apple slices and cinnamon sticks, if you’re serving to impress.
How ’bout Them Apples?
- 2 Tablespoons of Bonita’s Apple Butter
- 6 ounces of Big White’s Apple Cider
- 1.5 ounces of Brandy
- Optional: Caramel, Cinnamon Sugar, French Vanilla Ice Cream
Serve on the rocks. For a little extra specialness, rim your glass tumbler with caramel and cinnamon sugar, and pop a cinnamon stick in there. For a little extra-extra… Turn it into a cocktail float with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream. Oh, yum!
