It’s March and we’re all hankering to get our gardening on, right?
For us in zone 7, it’s too early to start planting in the ground, but container planting is an option once we’re clear of freezing temps, AND if our plants can live in a protected space, like a covered porch.
Supplies you’ll need:
- Open-weave container to allow sheet moss to show through
- Sheet moss
- Burlap sack or sheet
- Espoma® Organic Potting Soil
- Thriller plants, like helleborus
- Spiller plants, like periwinkle, ivy
- Filler plants, like mossy saxifrage, phlox, sage
Pop over to Reston Farm Garden Center for supplies and let’s see if we can’t tease in spring a little early.
*PLEASE NOTE: If we don’t have the plants demonstrated in this video, we’ll help you find the perfect substitutes.
HAPPY GARDENING!
